Division Security

Nowadays, most of medium size corporations have multiple divisions (such as business units, project teams, sales teams) within the same “Company”. An individual user is only allowed to access specified sets of information (such as project, customer, sales order and shipper) even the user has access rights to the particular screens and reports.

Division Security (DS) introduces an ownership concept to Dynamics SL, while each record could be owned by a user and division. It allows you to define both division level and user level security to any record and screen of Dynamics SL. A user can be accessing the information of a single or multiple divisions with flexible and configurable manner. This substantially enhances the standard functional level security per “Company” basis of Dynamics SL.

Each sales team manager is only allowed to access the customers and sales orders within his/her own team, while the sales director could access all customers and sales orders.

No problem. You can configure the sales team manager and sales director to different access level in a flexible manner.

Each project manager is only allowed to access the projects information within his/her own division, while each project engineer could access a particular project that he/she is working on.

No problem. You can configure the Division Security to all project related screens and reports in a flexible manner.

Division Security delivers these features:

§  Unlimited number of division (such as business units, project teams, sales teams) can be defined and each user can be belonging to one or multiple specified divisions within the same “Company”.

§  Division level security can be configured and applied to any record, screen and report.

§  There are 3 security levels named Global, Local and Basic. Global (company) access level allows a user to access all records within one or all companies without restriction. Local (division) access level allows a user to access all records within the specified divisions. Basic (individual user) access level allows a user to access his/her owned records.
